No file at hand? Try a sample drawing.

Your file is deleted as soon as it has been opened or converted, and the pages drawn from it within 1 hour. It is never used for AI training, and it is processed in the EU.

How it works

  1. Open the file

Tap the button and pick the DWG you were sent.

  2. Pick a drawing

A DWG often holds a plan, sections and details side by side. Pick one at the top; each opens on its own.

  3. Measure

Press Measure, then tap two points. Press Done to finish. The scale usually comes from the file.

Questions

Do I need AutoCAD or another CAD program?

No. This page opens the DWG in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

Can I change the drawing?

No. OpenMyDrawing shows and measures drawings; it does not edit them. You can add notes and measurements on top, and they stay in your browser.

Does it show everything in the file?

It draws the lines, text, hatches and layers in the drawing's own colours. If something cannot be shown, a line under the drawing says what.

Is it free?

Yes. Opening and measuring are free. Open as many files as you like, each up to 40 MB.

Free views of DWG and DXF drawings carry a light "Preview" watermark; a pass for the file removes it. Measuring works the same either way, and PDF pages never carry it.

Can I print it?

Press More, then Print picture. It prints what is on the screen, with your measurements and a light "Preview" mark.

What if I get a PDF instead?

Open it in the PDF viewer. It measures PDF drawings too.

What happens to my file?

Your file is deleted as soon as it has been opened or converted, and the pages drawn from it within 1 hour. It is never used for AI training, and it is processed in the EU. It is opened in a separate process with no network access.
